Overview
We are happy to announce that The Peninsula New York completed an extensive interior design refurbishment, led by the award-winning New York City-based Bill Rooney Studio, which encompasses all 219 guest rooms and suites, the hotel’s Lobby, Reception, Palm Court, and the reimagined rooftop lounge, Pen Top.
Upon arrival, guests are welcomed into the lobby with a magnificent chandelier overlooking the dramatic double-height entry with a sweeping marble double-staircase. The intimate reception and concierge space have also been redesigned with bespoke interiors of fresher, lighter finishes, creating a truly welcoming guest experience.
Guest rooms are designed to serve as light and luxurious retreats, updated with the latest comforts and high-tech conveniences, including The Peninsula’s proprietary in-room technology with touch-screen tablets in six languages, with access to a signature 24-hour digital concierge. Contributing to the overall residential ambiance are white-on-white jacquard textiles, Quagliotti bed linens, and plush furnishings, which are further complemented by etched glass, molded headboards, and updated lighting fixtures.
Set high above iconic Fifth Avenue is the crown jewel of the hotel, the reimagined rooftop venue, Pen Top, with the city’s iconic skyline as the backdrop, where guests can enjoy the menu of New York classics.
Also, nestled just off the hotel lobby, Gotham Lounge makes its grand return as an exquisite and intimately appointed piano bar. Of course, our award-winning Spa & Wellness Center, including our indoor pool and fitness center with updated technology, perfects the guests experience.

Custom-created by local fragrance curators to embody the essence of each Peninsula locale, these amenities – including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body milk, and soap – offer a delightful sensory immersion in your hotel’s destination. The products are made with natural ingredients and come in recyclable aluminum packaging; additional amenities like shower caps, toothbrushes, and razors have also been redesigned with sustainable, plastic-free materials such as corn starch, wheat, wood, and recycled metal.
