Perched above Fiesole, Il Salviatino earns its reputation the old-fashioned way — restored frescoes, genuine historical artifacts, and a view of Florence and the Duomo that makes you understand why the Medici built uphill. This is for someone who wants the city but refuses to sleep inside it. Come for two or three nights minimum; anything less is wasteful. If your ideal hotel has a sleek lobby and a rooftop bar, you're looking at the wrong hill entirely.

Overview
Il Salviatino Firenze is a unique property, an aristocratic Florentine villa, with a personality we had to protect. During the restoration, the Villa revealed so many surprises: extraordinary frescoes hidden underneath a false ceiling, a sarcophagus belonging to a previous owner born again as a spectacular bath in a guest suite and an intricate network of old pathways through the estate buried for years by the undergrowth. Each step has been an exciting and breathtaking journey.
Location
It is difficult to find a better location in Florence. The city center, with its famous Dome, is just 15 minutes away and the charm of Fiesole, this magical hill that looks over Florence, gives the feeling of being lost in the purest Tuscan countryside.
Il Salviatino is just 4 miles away (15 minutes driving distance) from Santa Maria Novella Train Station.Florence Amerigo Vespucci Airport and Pisa Galileo Galilei Airport are 9 miles (approx 30 min. driving distance) and 69 miles away (approx 1 hour and 20 min. driving distance) respectively.
