Sustainability Initiatives +
Sustainability values are deeply ingrained in Mandarin Oriental’s heritage; one of our key guiding principles is “Acting with Responsibility”. The Group is dedicated to delivering service excellence and to operating its hotels and residences in a responsible and sustainable way.
One of the local initiatives for Mandarin Oriental, Geneva includes that as of 2023 the hotel will be connected to "Genilac", a 100% renewable innovative thermal solution, using Lake Geneva’s water to cool and heat the building.
Additionally, the hotel has drastically reduced the usage of single-use plastic. One of the successes: 17,000 plastic water bottles (per year) have been replaced with recyclable glass bottles and minibars are entirely plastic free. A local hotel CSR committee is constantly looking at new initiatives and exchanging best practices with other Mandarin Oriental Hotels in order to minimize further the hotel's environmental footprint.
