Our take
A converted 1920s public utility building, NOPSI earns its place in New Orleans by actually looking like New Orleans — that grand lobby isn't decoration, it's architecture with a past. Take the rooftop pool for city views and a cocktail at dusk. This is downtown, loud and alive, and the hotel leans into it. Bring that energy or don't come. If you need a spa, a beach, or silence, the city will eat you. But for two or three nights of New Orleans done seriously, there's nowhere better positioned.
