The Egerton House Hotel
LONDON, ENGLAND, UNITED KINGDOM
Our take
Knightsbridge on your doorstep, the V&A a short walk, Harrods even closer — Egerton House earns its address. Antonio Pizzuto's martinis alone justify the cab fare, and the afternoon tea is the real thing, not a performance for tourists. This is for the traveller who wants a proper London townhouse, not a tower with a lobby the size of a terminal. If you need a pool, a spa floor, or a ballroom, look elsewhere. For two or three nights of intimate, unhurried London, nothing feels more like being let in on a secret.
Notable Features
- Proximity to museums and high-end shopping
- Renowned afternoon tea service
- Martinis crafted by acclaimed barman Antonio Pizzuto

Overview
A stay at The Egerton House Hotel gives you style and exclusivity in equal measure. We're right in the heart of Knightsbridge, the fashionable address that draws upmarket shoppers from around the world. With views over Egerton Gardens and the Victoria and Albert Museum, you can see much of Knightsbridge from our upper-floor windows. London's finest museums and its most exclusive shops are all within five minutes walk. Children love the Natural History Museum's dinosaurs and the Science Museum's hands-on exhibits, while art-lovers make for the Victoria and Albert Museum. Shoppers head straight for nearby Harrods, the world's most famous department store as well as Harvey Nichols, the long rows of shops along Brompton Road, Sloane Street and the King's Road.
A little further to the north are the famous Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. They're a delight at any time of year, as is The Serpentine, the popular boating lake in their midst.Buckingham Palace is about a mile to the east. Roughly the same distance to the south lies The Royal Hospital Chelsea, home of the Chelsea Pensioners and Britain's leading horticultural event, the Chelsea Flower Show, held each May. The West End and theatreland are also within easy reach. A short taxi ride takes you to Piccadilly Circus and the theatres off Shaftesbury Avenue.
The rooms retain the grandeur and exclusivity of the townhouses of which they were once part. Each of our 28 rooms and top-floor studio suites casts its own spell. Some are richly flamboyant, others are altogether more peaceful. No two are alike. They also include a relaxing area to sit, a business ready desk, well-stocked minibar, an iPod docking station, Wi-Fi, cable TV, and air conditioning.
Our cozy dining room draws a regular and appreciative audience – people who like great food impeccably served in intimate surroundings. They come to us simply because they like the way we do things. If we don't have what they want on the menu – and we have the ingredients to hand – we'll cook whatever they want. We're also a popular location for traditional English afternoon tea. Egerton House afternoon teas are a local Knightsbridge institution, built on the generosity of the portions, the elegance of the surroundings, and the attentiveness of the service.
Another seemingly timeless institution is our head barman, Antonio Pizzuto. Antonio has spent 40 years perfecting his art, which is why his Martinis are quite simply the best in London. Under his stewardship, our hotel bar has become one of the hidden gems of the city – a word-of-mouth destination for those who like soft conversation in intimate surroundings.
Our dedicated Guest Relations team are there to assist with every need, from a pillow menu or any special room requirements, to booking the best table in Londons finest restaurants and getting the best seats at the theatres and providing guests with that extra special love, care and attention.
Sustainability Initiatives +
In 2020 we launched a five year sustainability strategy designed to tackle 11 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations that we can have the biggest impact on as a business. The 11 goals of the strategy are directly linked to the SDGs they advance and aligned to the three pillars of TreadRight: People, Planet, Wildlife.
We are only two years into our journey and we have already reduced food waste by 34%, increased our use of local and organic produce by 27%, put a stop to printed brochures, eliminated 90% of single-use plastics within our operations, launched 'Make Travel Matter Experiences': meaningful experiences that are designed to benefit the host as well as the guest. We've also established partnerships that focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion to broaden our talent pool, further grow diversity within our workforce, and ensure we provide an inclusive, welcoming, and safe space for employees and visitors. An inhouse diversity and inclusion network provides a resource and a safe space for support, creativity, and collaboration, and all employees are provided two paid days per year to volunteer within the community.
Sustainability is part of our identity and our journey isn't over. The launch of the Travel Corporation's Carbon Fund will also provide tangible solutions towards our net zero targets - verified by the Science Based Targets Initiative.
