The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort
DHAALU ATOLL, MALDIVES
Our take
Vommuli holds the largest overwater villa in the Maldives — that's not marketing, that's square footage. Pair it with a hydrotherapy pool and a functioning coral reef regeneration program and you have something rarer than a good view: a resort with actual conviction. This is for the kind of person who wants the ocean entirely to themselves and doesn't need a reason to leave the island. If you're chasing street food, cultural texture, or any pulse whatsoever after dark, book elsewhere. This place is gloriously, unapologetically still.
Notable Features
- Largest overwater villa in the Maldives
- Expansive hydrotherapy pool
- Dedicated coral reef regeneration program

Sustainability Initiatives +
We are increasingly prioritizing sustainability efforts to protect the beautiful natural environment that surrounds it, and beyond. From its marine conservation partnership with Reefscapers to incorporating the island’s natural ingredients in restaurants, here are some of the key initiatives that have been implemented. The Reefscapers programme has seen 200 new coral frames established, nurturing over 10,000 coral fragments across three restoration sites on the island to protect and restore the surrounding coral reefs.
Our in-house engineering team has successfully implemented recycling and composting practices. In 2024, the resort has composted over 76,000 kilograms of food and landscape waste to enhance the nutrients in the soil of the resort’s vegetable garden. All metal, plastic, cardboard and glass at the resort is repurposed or recycled. The resort uses glass waste to manufacture bricks, saving the money and emissions it would take to import. The resort partners with local fishermen who employ sustainable fishing methods ensuring that much of the produce and seafood that comes to the resort is sourced responsibly, supporting local communities, and is of the highest possible quality. The resort’s Kids Club engages young guests in a variety of eco-friendly activities like creating miniature ecosystems with empty mini bar jars, crafting ship models from repurposed coconut shells, utilizing coconut shells as painting canvases to promote upcycling and creativity.
