Our take
Robertson Quay's converted godown done right — raw brick and iron bones from the 1800s, now housing 37 rooms and a rooftop pool that looks straight down the Singapore River. Eat at Po before you do anything else; the modern Singaporean menu is reason enough to book. This is for the design-literate traveler who wants a city hotel with actual character. If you're chasing a full-service resort, a grand spa, or Orchard Road convenience, look elsewhere. Two or three nights here is Singapore understood, not just visited.
