Dehradun & Mussoorie

Three nights between Dehradun's valley floor and Mussoorie's ridge — calm, cold air, and no wasted moves

The river at Robber’s Cave disappears under a limestone shelf, and you’re standing in it. That’s day one. You land at Jolly Grant Airport on the first IndiGo flight from Delhi. A car from Alp Travel Co. meets you at arrivals — no waiting, no negotiating. By noon you’re checked in at Hyatt Regency Dehradun, pool-side, order in hand. After lunch, a guide walks you through the Forest Research Institute. The Indo-Saracenic facade is worth the detour alone. Then Robber’s Cave: cold ankle-deep water, low rock walls, the sound of nothing. Before dinner, Six Senses Vana fits in a 60-minute Ayurvedic treatment. You sleep well. Morning two, a private car climbs the switchbacks to Mussoorie. The driver knows every bend. You check into Ananda In The Himalayas — a palace-hotel on a forested ridge, with a spa that books up fast. Alp reserves your slot in advance. Walk Camel’s Back Road before the clouds move in. Take the Gun Hill ropeway up for the late-afternoon light on the peaks. End at Landour Bakehouse: sourdough toast, strong coffee, a window table. One more full day is yours — the ridge, the quiet, the cold. On day four, the same car returns you to Jolly Grant. Flight back to Delhi before lunch. Nothing is rushed.

Cold river water at your ankles by noon on day one — Uttarakhand moves fast when someone else handles the details.
