Sustainability Initiatives +
More than 40 years ago, The Ritz-Carlton Hotels made a commitment to be known as “positive, supportive members of our communities” and to be “sensitive to the environment.”
Today, we are actively carrying out that mission across our hotels and in the destinations where we operate through Community Footprints, our social and environmental responsibility program. Started in 2003, Community Footprints is guided by these principles: to engage, to contribute and to inspire.
By mobilizing our resources and volunteer efforts, we strive to make a difference through causes that are important to the local communities in which we operate. The Ritz-Carlton encourages guests to journey with intent and leave their stays feeling even more fulfilled by participating in Community Footprints programs wherever they travel.
In addition to that — the Ambassadors of the Environment program is working to ensure that younger generations experience nature in a meaningful, conscientious way. Developed by the legendary Jean-Michel Cousteau, Ambassadors of the Environment uses family-friendly activities to introduce guests to the natural wonders and cultural traditions of the Cayman Islands. Grand Cayman becomes a living classroom where adults and kids learn about responsible living and respect for nature. Adventures begin in the Heritage House, a traditional island cottage with cultural exhibits.
