Bay views floor-to-ceiling, a rooftop bar above the waterfront, and a downtown address that keeps everything within reach — San Diego rarely looks this good. This is for the executive who flies in wanting something sharper than a convention block, or the couple who'd rather drink in the harbor skyline than fight for a pool lounger. Anyone chasing a proper resort sprawl with multiple pools and programmed activities should look elsewhere. Two or three nights here, though, and you'll understand why the waterfront was always the right call.
