In December 2021, Cloister reopened following a comprehensive restoration. As when famed architect Addison Mizner designed the property for its original opening in 1926 as the Ritz Carlton Inn, Cloister’s exterior once again gleams in coastal white. The grand entrance was extensively renovated, including every detail along the main drive and throughout the lobby.
Foodies will delight in 14 reimagined restaurants, bars, and lounges, including Principessa Ristorante, serving classic Italian fare at a beautiful lakeside location, and Japanese Bocce Club, the resort’s unofficial club house featuring modern Japanese cuisine. The new Harborside Pool Club is a water wonderland with three pools, a lazy river, waterslides, luxury cabanas, and a kids club. The resort is also home to an 18-hole golf course, a Racquet Club with 16 tennis courts and 6 pickleball courts, and the 54,000-square-foot Spa Palmera.
