Tucked into the centre of Oxford, The Store trades spa robes and room service theatre for something rarer: genuine personality. The rooms are bespoke, the decor deliberately eccentric, and the whole thing feels curated rather than constructed. Solo travellers and couples who want a city stay with some wit to it will find exactly that here. Come for the character and the location — both are excellent. If you need a gym, a pool, or the reassuring blankness of a five-star chain, this will frustrate you.
