- ‘Make a Green Choice’ is Marriott’s guest-facing sustainability and loyalty program that enables participating guests to forgo daily housekeeping service in exchange for earning Marriott Bonvoy points and helping the company reduce its environmental footprint. The program is open to all guests staying for 2 or more nights regardless of rate plan or booking method. Guest can participate for up to 3 consecutive nights before receiving housekeeping services.
- Hotels should actively promote the “Make a Green Choice” program as part of the existing presentation of sustainable meetings options to groups and meeting planners at the various stages of the group’s booking and planning process. Among other things, the program allows hotels to expand and complement existing sustainable meeting offerings, reduce operating costs, and mitigate staffing challenges during periods of high volume. Likewise, the program benefits groups and meeting planners by incorporating a high impact, low effort and easy to execute sustainability activity into their event program and potentially drives donations to a charity of their choice.
